Facebook Business Page

A Facebook Business Page is your official business presence on Facebook. It displays your business name, address, phone number, website, hours, photos, and posts to an audience that can follow and interact with your brand.

From a local SEO perspective, a Facebook Page is a powerful citation and brand asset. It provides structured business information, collects reviews and recommendations, and often ranks for branded searches.

  • Acts as a structured citation with consistent NAP data
  • Helps your brand dominate page one for name searches
  • Provides a channel for ongoing engagement, messaging, and reviews

Every local business should have a properly set up and maintained Facebook Business Page to support both social presence and local search visibility.

For Existing Listings...

Before you start

You will need:

  • A personal Facebook account you can use to manage the Page
  • Access to official business documents, email addresses, or websites that prove ownership

Step 1: Search for your business on Facebook

  1. Log in to your Facebook account at https://www.facebook.com/.
  2. Use the search bar at the top to search for your business name and city.
  3. In the results, filter to Pages (if available) and look for a Page that represents your business.

Step 2: Check if the Page is unofficial or unmanaged

  1. Click the Page and look for signs that it is an unofficial or automatically generated Page (few posts, no owner activity, or a notice that it is a “Community-created page”).
  2. If the Page looks unofficial but matches your business, you can request to claim or manage it.

Step 3: Claim the Page through Meta Business Suite

  1. Open a new tab and go to https://business.facebook.com/ and log in with the same Facebook account.
  2. Go to Business Settings (usually under the gear icon or menu).
  3. In the left-hand menu, find the Pages section under Accounts.
  4. Click the Add button and choose the option to Add a Page or Claim an existing Facebook Page.
  5. Enter the name or URL of the Page you want to claim and submit your request.

Step 4: Provide proof and wait for approval

  1. Facebook may ask you for additional information or documentation to prove that you are authorized to manage the business.
  2. Provide any requested documents (such as utility bills, business registration documents, or verification via company email).
  3. Once approved, the Page will appear under your Facebook Business assets and you will be able to manage and optimize it.
